Administration

Another busy month with the new Clubhouse and lots and lots to do!!

Thank you to all those that have cleared out their lockers and storage areas. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. For those that have not cleared lockers, please get your skates on and ensure they are cleared by this Sunday. Any lockers not cleared with have all contents removed and treated as lost property before disposal.

Membership

Subscriptions will be emailed out within the next 10 days or so.

Subscription invoices will be emailed first on their own and then another email will be sent with all other relevant attachments, ie President’s Letter, Instalment options, etc.

Any members that have an email address and do not receive their subscription invoice by 15^th May, please let us know.

All members without an email address will receive their subscriptions by regular mail.

If you are thinking of changing your category of membership for the next financial year, you should contact Gabby in the office as soon as possible.

Note: We are very appreciative of those members who pay their subscriptions before the 30 June. It is of great assistance to the Club, especially this year. We would like our members to know that the Usable Advance (ie Bar Levy) amount is not available to be used until the 1 July.

Introducing Golf Autoscore

Portsea Golf Club is pleased to announce Golf Autoscore will be introduced into our Club in early June 2013. Autoscore combines the tradition of the golf scorecard with time saving technology. Members will receive a Golf Autoscore card when playing in club competitions that displays your name, handicap, tee time and specific course details on the cards. The Golf Autoscore scorecard is marked by the golfer like a traditional scorecard, but in addition, strokes are marked on a ‘lotto’ style panel for each of the 18 holes. At the completion of the round the scorecard is fed into a ‘Mark Reader’ and the scoring information is recorded in approximately 5 seconds. The system will highlight mistakes and discrepancies made by the marker/player and enables you to adjust prior to submitting the card, hence eliminating the chance of error and disqualification. The system has been successfully implemented over 100 Clubs across Australia including Royal Melbourne, Sorrento, Long Island, Peninsula and many more.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – INTERRUPTION TO WATER SUPPLY

On WEDNESDAY 27^TH MARCH, South East water will be carrying out works on Pt Nepean Road, therefore, Portsea Golf Club Clubhouse, Pro-Shop and Locker Rooms will be without water from 9.00am to 4.00pm.

We have arranged for portable toilets to be delivered and these will be placed at the delivery bay to the left of the Clubhouse entry (the old Spike bar entrance)

There should be no disruption to water supply for the toilets located on the 7^th and 14^th.

Please note there will be no showering facilities.

We apologise for this inconvenience.

Saturday Member’s Guest Day 23rd March

No green fees are payable for guests on Guest Days and we encourage members to make the most of this opportunity and showcase your club.

Morning event – Open to 7 day members with a guest. A 7:45am shotgun start 4BBB competition will be followed by a gourmet barbeque, prize presentations and tour of the new clubhouse (tbc). The cost to participate in the morning field is $60 per pair (covering competition fees, great prizes and lunch).

To enter the morning field – Please complete this entry form and return to the office with payment prior to Friday 15^th March.

Afternoon event – Open to 7 day members with or without a guest. A 12:45pm shotgun start 4BBB competition will be followed by presentations in the clubhouse. A $10 entry fee (per pair) will be payable prior to play in the proshop. No official meal or clubhouse tour will be part of the afternoon event.

Bookings for the afternoon field can be made via the club website or Proshop from 3pm, Fri 8^th March.
