Whilst a private members course, Portsea warmly welcomes visiting golfers to its classic layout.
In particular we welcome social groups of golfers who respect and care for our course. Many of our regular social groups return year after year, booking well in advance. As a tribute to Portsea’s protection from the weather and playability in the wet, a surprising large number of social group rounds are played during winter.
The course is characterised by superb, fast-draining couch fairways and fast and true bent-grass greens. It’s compact with several elevation changes and is noted for tricky, short par-4’s and superb par-3’s. Despite ever increasing competition, Portsea has for many years retained its high course ranking and is currently ranked 12th in Australia (Public Access Courses). We have recently been selected as one of “The Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses”.

We operate a proshop fully stocked with quality merchandise and the bar and restaurant serve high quality local foods and beverages at value prices. Our fleet of golf carts provides you with the most up to date and comfortable carts available.
We can cater for specific requirements and assist with competition management.

Social Group Rates
We believe we offer exceptional value to our social group golfers and reduced green fees and cart hire rates apply. For more details on these rates please call Lis Harbinson on 03 5984-3521 or email emanager@portseagolf.com.au. A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking with full payment required at the latest by the week before play. Please note that carts need to be booked when you make your golf booking. Also ask about our special incentives to entice you to our fantastic course!
