A short climb to the elevated eighth tee, the highest point on the course, is rewarded by a panoramic view of Port Phillip Bay and the surrounding country side. The hole is a short par five of 437 metres that dog-legs gently to the left. The temptation is to open the shoulders because of the elevated tee however this should be tempered slightly by the knowledge that a hook will finish out-of-bounds,, a slice will find the thick ti-tree on the right and there is a set of fairway traps 220 metres out on the right. A strong second shot will make the green, which is bunkered on the left. A lay up on the right of the fairway will set up the third shot, for the green slopes from left to right.
