VICTORIAN PGA AWARDS

The 2007 Victorian PGA Awards were held at Crown Casino on Sunday 2nd March 2008. 

Portsea Golf Club was nominated for three awards -  Course of the Year, Pro Am of the Year and Country Pro Am of the Year.  
For the ninth time, Portsea was awarded Pro - Am of the Year ahead of other finalists Rosebud , Keysborough and Yarra Yarra.

Congratulations to all those who contribute to the success of the Pro Am and to all members who graciously give up their course for a day and a half to allow this great event to continue on the 2nd January each year.

2008 Portsea CASCADE Pro-Am - 2nd January 2008

Since the inaugural Portsea Pro Am in 1976, the event has attracted the willing support and participation of Australia's top ranking professional golfers, along with celebrities from the fields of sport, media, entertainment and politics. This event is recognised in the community as the best family sporting event for the summer season and should not be missed.

Program of events

6.30am Breakfast served & registration for morning field

7.00am Morning field to hit off 1st and 10th tees

11.00am Lunch is available for afternoon field in marquee and food is served all day until 9pm

11.45am Afternoon field hit off 1st and 10th tees

Noon to 4pm Children's activities on practice fairway

5pm to 10pm Courtesy bus to operate from Sorrento to Portsea throughout the day

5.00 pm Live entertainment Tony Byrne

7.30 pm Live entertainemnt Scott Carne Band continues until 10.00 pm close

Parking at the events

PORTSEA Golf Club is expecting large crowds at this year's Portsea Cascade Pro-Am. The club has plenty of parking on the practice fairway. Golfers and spectators enter through the main gate and are given directions. Additional spots are also available at Police Point near the entrance to Point Nepean, which adjoins the course. Parking is restricted to those areas. There is strictly no parking on the main road outside the course. Entry is $5 for non-members (includes one ticket in the 2008 Portsea Cascade Pro-Am Raffle. Members and children under- 12 are free. Alcohol can only be purchased at the venue. There's no BYO.

On-Course Facilities

- Marquee Entertainment - plasma TV's, golfing interactive activities, live musice etc.
- Catering - all day catering provided in Marquee by 1st Tee.
- Satellite catering located on 12th Hole.
- Grandstand seating adjacent to the 1st Tee.
- Camp Australia kids activities on the lawn to the Club from 12noon - 4.00pm.
- Pro Shop - selling a wide range of merchandise.
- Toilets - located adjacent to the Marquee, 12th Green and Clubhouse.
