The 2016 Portsea Open Amateur Champions are Kyle Michel and Olivia Kline. Kyle Michel shot a fantastic four round score of 285 (+1) to win by 7 shots from Anthony Marchesani. Kyle played solid golf all four rounds with scores of 74, 67, 71, 73.
Mark Boulton played the round the tournament with a 6 under 65 in Round 3 which included a 28 (-7) on the back nine.
In the Women’s side of the event Olivia Kline faced Montana Strauss in a sudden playoff with both players tied at the completion of the fourth round. Olivia Kline prevailed on the first playoff hole to take the title. Both players were tied on a four round total of 307.
Jade Shellback hit the shot of the tournament on the Friday with a Hole in One at the 7th hole.

3:45pm: Kyle Michel takes a 5 shot lead after the 14th hole.
12:45pm: The final round has kicked off. Kyle Michel retains his 4 shot lead over the field. Mark Boulton shot the best 3rd round with a score of 65 which included a 7 under 28 on the back nine.

6:40pm: The Draw for the Final 2 rounds has been decided with the Top 54 Men (162 and better) and the Top 12 Women (171 and better) have made the cut for Rounds 3 and 4 to played on Sunday July 24th. These 2 rounds will be shotgun starts from 7.30am and 12.30pm. Click here to view draw.
5:05pm: Not far away from a cut number for Rounds 3 & 4. 54 and ties for Men and 12 and ties for Women will get through to play the 36 final rounds. Check the Leaderboards above to see where you sit.
2:20pm: Kyle Michel shoots a second round of 67 (-4) to take the clubhouse lead with a 2 round total of 140 (-2).
12:20pm: The afternoon field has hit the course to try and make the cut.
11:15am: Action shots from the course as the morning field battles the conditions.
9:30am: Play was suspended for 15 minutes this morning following hail and winds that made the course unplayable. Players have been asked to make a conscience effort to keep the pace up. Players have done a great job this morning in keeping up.

The 2016 Portsea Open Amateur event will be held from Friday July 22nd to Sunday July 24th.
This 4 round event includes 18 hole rounds played on Friday and Saturday with those making the cut playing 36 holes on Sunday. The event is an Ivo-Whitten, Susie Tolhurst and World Golf Ranking event. This year we are also happy to announce that the 2016 Male and Female Portsea Open Amateur champions will qualify for the 2017 Oates Vic Open which will be a great experience for those lucky enough to get that opportunity.
We received over 170 entries for the event and with a maximum field size of 132 players we have had to cut a large amount of players which makes for one of the strongest fields since the events beginning in 1980.

Below is a link to the Terms and Conditions that you agreed to when entering this event. Please make sure you read this information prior to the event. Pace of Play will be monitored closely during the event so please make sure you keep your position in the field and play in the times specified.
- Practice rounds available (complimentary) Monday 18th July, Tuesday 19th July after 10.30am, Wed 20th July after 10.30am, Thu 21st July after 3pm. Other practice times are subject to availability by payment of relevant green fees. All rounds must be booked through the Proshop (5981 6155). Practice rounds must be played from the daily tee markers. If you fail to comply you may be withdrawn from the Tournament.
- Complimentary practice rounds are only available to those players in the draw. Alternates will not receive complimentary practice rounds.
- Clubhouse Practice facilities are limited to nets, chipping/bunker green and putting green (no practice fairway).
- No refunds for cancellations will be made after the draw is prepared.
- The Mercure Portsea Golf Club is offering players special rates on accommodation for Thursday-Sunday nights. Accommodation enquiries & bookings (03) 5981 6100 (Must Quote “Open Amateur”).

Find below the Alternates list for the event and the order in which players will be entered into the field in the event of any withdrawals. Players who missed a spot are welcome to attend the Portsea Golf Club on Friday the 22nd of July and see if any withdrawals occur on the day. Spots will be awarded to participants in order as per the Alternates list. If coming on the day you are required to alert the Golf Shop that you are in attendance and interested in being an emergency and will be required to be available to tee off at short notice. We do not guarantee any players a start.
Please be aware we will not be refunding entry fees until after the event has been conducted in case players receive a spot in the field. If you would like to be removed as an alternate and refunded prior to the event please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your Full Name and Home Club. Withdrawals must be in writing. Please note you will lose you spot as an alternate and your spot will be allocated to the next available person.
