Is Portsea the best golf course on the Mornington Peninsula? The members who turned out for the opening of the Halfway House last Friday certainly think so. The sun shone between the thunder storms as members enjoyed champagne and canapes while the Halfway House was officially opened by Jack Carr. Jack who was on the Committee of Management in the 1980’s had originally taken an action over 30 years ago to do a feasibility study for such a facility. It was well worth the wait.

The building was partially funded through donations by members, and the generosity of a range of skilled tradesmen who worked tirelessly in their spare time to see the project through to completion.

The hallway house will sell cold drinks, coffee, sandwiches and a range of hot foods and soup. It will also provide a venue for pre-dinner drinks for wedding guests as it is only a few metres from the picturesque wedding dell which is so popular for celebrations on summer evenings.
