The 2019 event will be held from July 26th to July 28th 2019. 

This is a 4 round event with 18 holes on Friday and Saturday and those making the cut will play 36 holes on Sunday.

The Portsea Open Amateur is both an Ivo Whitton and Susie Tolhurst Trophy event. plus a World Amateur Golf Ranking event.

FINIAL RESULTS 2018

The 2018 Portsea Open Amateur was completed in tough final day conditions.

The Men’s event was won by Andre Lautee with one over par 285 for the 4 rounds.  Andre had scores of 70, 67, 70 and 78 to finish 9 strokes clear of runner up Jason Johnson and 10 clear of third place Peter O’Dwyer.  Andre played solid Golf for 3 days and lead from the front.

The Women’s event was a much tighter affair with Konomi Matsumoto winning back to back titles after coming from one shot back with one round to play to take the title by one shot.  Konomi had rounds of 72, 73, 75 and 83 for a 303 total.

Congratulation to both Andre and Konomi on being crowned the Portsea Open Amateur Champions for 2018.

FINAL DAY

Round 3 has been completed with high winds making going tough.

In the Men’s event Andre Lautee from Kingston Heath has taken a commanding lead with a solid third round of one under 70.  He moved to 6 under par and takes a 9 shot lead with one round remaining.

The Women’s event is a much tighter affair with Jenny Wong from Metropolitan at 3 over par and a slim one shot lead over Konomi Matsumoto from Victoria Golf Club.

The Draws for Sunday the 29th July are now available below.  The cut for the Women was 158 and better.  The cut for the Men was also 158 and better.

The Shotgun starts will be at 7:30am and 12:30pm tomorrow.  Please make sure that you arrive with enough to register and get to your allocated tee.

Meals for players who have made the cut will be available between the two rounds in the clubhouse.  You will be provided with a voucher at registration which you need to redeem to receive your meal.

Please make sure that you are playing Golf at a reasonable pace as to leave enough time to have your meal between the two rounds as the afternoon start time will not be delayed.

Below are the Terms and Conditions that you agreed to when entering this event. Please make sure you read this information prior to the event.  Some important things to be aware of are below.

PACE OF PLAY
Pace of play will be monitored by the Tournament Committee. Each round of 18 holes is to take no longer than four hours and fifteen minutes from the time the player hits off. If a player is failing to keep his place in the field and is also not adhering to the required pace of play he may be penalised in accordance with Rule 6 -7 as follows:
• First Offence – one stroke
• Second Offence – two strokes
• For subsequent Offence – disqualification

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Practice rounds available (complimentary) Monday 23rd July, Tuesday 24th July after 10.00am, Wednesday 25th July after 10.00am, Thursday 26th July after 3pm. Complimentary rounds only available to those players who receive a start in the tournament and ID will need to be presented on arrival. Other practice times are subject to availability by payment of relevant green fees. All rounds must be booked through the Proshop (5981 6155). Practice rounds must be played from the daily tee markers. If you fail to comply you may be withdrawn from the Tournament.
• Clubhouse Practice facilities are limited to nets, chipping/bunker green and putting green (no practice fairway).
• No refunds for cancellations will be made after the draw is prepared.

PULL BUGGIES
Please note that Portsea Golf Club have a limited supply of hire pull buggies available. It would be appreciated if you own and are able to bring along your own buggy that you do so to avoid missing out and having to carry your bag. Player’s will not be able to book and reserve buggies in advance.

Any players who are caught taking buggy cradles offsite following their round will be immediately disqualified. It is the players responsibility to return the buggy cradle to the Golf Shop at the completion of their round when submitting their scorecard.

The Portsea Open Amateur will be staged from July 27th to July 29th.  This is a 4 round event with 18 holes on Friday and Saturday and those making the cut will play 36 holes on Sunday.

The Portsea Open Amateur is both an Ivo Whitton and Susie Tolhurst Trophy event.  Male & Female Winners will be allocated conditional amateur exemptions to the 2019 Men’s & Women’s Vic Open starting field.

The Maximum Handicap for Men is 5.4 and Women 9.4.
