RESULTS
The Portsea Golf Club Spring Tournament was held from Friday the 11th of October to Sunday the 13th October with good weather on offer for those taking part.
Friday Four Ball event 43 pairs take part in the event in the afternoon. The Men’s event winner where brother combination of Craig and Phil Jewell with a very solid score of 44 points to finish 2 shots clear. The Women’s event was a closer affair with Jane Carter and JoJo Law winning the day with 42 points. One shot further back was Jill Leonard and Jane Kerin with 41 points.
Neil Zouaoui, from the National Golf Club, had good day by not only finishing third in the event but also having his first Hole in One at the 13th.
Saturday saw competitors compete for several major trophies that were on offer in the Stroke event.
The Armytage Cup which is awarded to the male Golfer with the best nett score on the day was won by Portsea member Kerry Cummings with a great nett score of 65 to win by one shot from Peter Sheffield.
In the Womens event two major trophies were on offer for the best nett and the best gross scores recorded on the day. The McDonald Trophy (best nett) was won by Jill Sands with a score of nett 69. The Delgany Plate (best gross) was won by Jenny Jeffreys with a gross score of 85. Well done to both Jill and Jenny.
To round out the tournament was the Mixed Canadian Foursomes on Sunday afternoon. The winners of the nett event were Brian Leonard and Loretta Mallett who combined for a great nett score of 66.75. In the gross section Andrew and Vicki Colliver won with a gross score of 79. Well done to the winners.
Within the Mixed Canadian Foursomes event there was a unique occurrence with all Nearest the Pins won by female Golfers.

EVENT INFORMATION
The 2019 Spring Tournament will be held from Friday October 11th to Sunday October 13th. Friday we host a Men’s and Women’s 4BBB event, Saturday is an individual Stroke event and the Sunday is Mixed Canadian Foursomes.
In conjunction with the Stroke event on the Saturday Men compete for the Armytage Cup and the Women compete for the Delgany Plate and McDonald Trophy.
To enter please see Entry Form below. Members are not required to complete an Entry Form for the Stroke Event on the Saturday. A timesheet will be open as normal at 3:00pm on Friday the 5th of October for Members to enter. The $10 Entry for Members will be payable on the day. If Members are wishing to bring Guests on the Saturday please submit and entry form for the Guests and advise when entering that you are wanting to play with your Guests.
Players must have a Golf Link Number and Handicap and submit this at the time of entry.
The 4BBB Stableford Event is open to Male and Female Pairs with Tee Times between 11:16am and 12:40pm. A Friday Night Dinner is available at the club with bookings available via Hotel Reception on (03) 5981 6100.
The Stroke event will be played on the Saturday with some major trophies up for grabs. Tee Times will be between 7:00am and 8:31am and 11:00am and 12:31pm for Men and 11:00am to 12:31pm for Women.
Mixed Canadian Foursomes will be played on Sunday with Tee Times between 11:29am and 12:11pm. Following Golf on Sunday pairs have the option to purchase a shared platter for 2 to enjoy in the clubhouse afterwards.
