The inaugural Joan McGill Trophy was held on Wednesday January 10th.

Joan was born on 9th November 1928, and died on the 8th June 2014.  She joined Portsea Golf Club in December 1960, with some years at Rosebud when it first opened.  Joan was a member of 8 winning Pennant teams from 1965-1990.  In 1991 she was appointed District selector for Country Teams, a position she held till the end of the 1999 season.  Joan was Women’s Captain in 1977-78. She won numerous Women’s and Mixed Foursomes Championships and a variety of other trophies over her years at Portsea. Joan was, more recently until her death, a friend and mentor to many women when they joined Portsea.

Jenny Jeffreys took out the title with a nett 74 and in the process won the January Monthly Medal.
