The 2020 Portsea Open Amateur has been cancelled due to Coronavirus.  We hope to have the event back in operation in 2021.

2019 PORTSEA OPEN AMATEUR

The 2019 Portsea Open Amateur was held from Friday July 26th to Sunday July 28th, 2019.

In the Men’s event the 2019 Champion was Lachlan Aylen from Heidelberg Golf Club with a impressive four round total of 279 (-5).  Rounds of 71, 69, 66 and 73 gave Lachlan a 1 stroke victory.  In second place on a countback was Shane Feldman with a total of 280.  Toby Walker finished in third position also on a score of 4 under par 280.

The Women’s event was a tightly fought battle with two players tied at the top coming into the final round.  By the end of the final round there was a three-way tie at the top with Jessica Pickwick, Keeley Marx and Alexandra Hilliard all finishing on a four-round score of 293.

A sudden death playoff was required to crown the champion.  Portsea’s own Keeley Marx hit a brilliant second shot into the 1st green to set up a tap in birdie to take the title.  Second place went to Jessica Pickwick with a par at the same hole and Alexandra Hilliard finished in third place after bogeying the playoff hole.

Congratulations to Lachlan Aylen and Keeley Marx on taking out this year’s titles.
